JOB TITLE:            Production Assistant                     STATUS:      Part Time

(Full-time hours available for 3 months)

DEPARTMENT:     Wide Format and Shipping        


REPORTS TO:         Production Manager                    



Purpose for this role

This position is a cross departmental role that will focus on providing production support to the Wide Format and Shipping departments. Their support allows our Lead Imaging and Finishing Operators and Lead Shipping Fulfillment the bandwidth to focus on producing jobs, quality control and project delivery.


Job Summary

Italic is a dynamic, fast-paced environment that requires a skilled production worker who can provide quality products within a short time frame. The variety of services offered requires employees to continuously learn new skills while honing their existing ones. The Wide Format and Shipping team will count on you to perform various tasks, from machinery operation, hand finishing, reading production dockets, packing and labelling job and output communication.


Key Job Responsibilities:(include but are not limited to):


Wide Format Printing and Finishing

  • Operating roll/flatbed inkjet and UV printers
  • Operating Wide Format digital die-cutting machine (ZUND)
  • Generic Wide Format finishing tasks such as:
    • Laminating
    • Trimming
    • Mounting
    • Hand Finishing
  • Quality control of job



  • Collating, sorting, and counting of products
  • Packaging products for shipment
  • Label generation
  • Relaying tracking and output communication to customer





  • Previous experience with digital printing and finishing
  • Knowledge of printing and bindery processes
  • Experience in use of Adobe Creative Suite software
  • Attention to detail with a high-quality mindset
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Uphold safe working standards at all times
  • Ability to multi-task and meet multiple deadlines



  • Working as a part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to work with minimal supervision
  • Self-motivated and organized
  • Must be able to maintain flexible work hours and be available for overtime as needed



  • Minimum high school or equivalent



  • 2 years of relevant working experience



  • Ability to lift materials up to 50lbs
  • Must be able to work on your feet for majority of workday
  • Working in a loud and busy manufacturing environment
